A safe haven is what singer-songwriter Anna Joan (she/they) creates within her music - a place where vulnerability coexists with strength, and where deep emotions can flourish. Through autobiographical, dreamlike indie-folk songs, the listener is invited into her personal stories and thoughts.

Born and raised in a small town located in the southern region of the Netherlands, Anna was drawn to music from a young age. She began taking vocal classes at the age of 7 and soon started following theatre and dance classes as well since musical theatre was her first love.

However, during her Bachelor's degree in 'Musictheatre' at the Fontys Conservatory and experimenting with her own music-theatre productions, she found out that she wanted to write her own songs instead. This led her to pursue a Master's degree in Music, specializing in songwriting. During this time, Anna developed her unique sound and style.

In her upcoming EP 'while the wind howls', which is set to release on June 16th, Joan puts her deepest fears and desires on display. Drawing inspiration from artists like Adrianne Lenker, Indigo Sparke, and Julia Jacklin, Anna Joan's songwriting is raw and honest. Whether she's singing about loss, love, or self-discovery, Anna Joan's voice has a way of cutting straight to the heart of the matter, leaving a lasting impression on the listener.

Her newest single 'love remains' is out now and is a testament to her ability to create a space for introspection and emotional exploration within her music.
