Anna Joan is a multi-talented showstopper. Drawing inspiration from artist like FKA Twigs, COBRAH and Sevdaliza, Anna Joan is set to unleash her raw, dark electronic sound in 2026. Her upcoming EP ‘SKIN’ is a sonic manifesto of sexual liberation and will make you dance to the reclamation of your own body. In her electronic performances she blends dance, live-music and outstanding vocal performances in a raw soundworld.

 

Born and raised in a small town in the southern region of the Netherlands, Anna was drawn to music from a young age. She began taking classical vocal classes at the age of 7 and soon started following theatre and dance classes after. Her love for the combination of the three disciplines, singing, acting, and dancing, was what led her to music-theatre in the first place.

During her bachelor’s degree in 'Music-theatre' at the Fontys Conservatory and experimenting with her own music-theatre productions, she found out that she wanted to write her own songs and tell her own story instead. This led her to pursue a Master’s degree in Music at the Rockacademy, specializing in songwriting. On top of that she graduated from the academy Master The Mix past year as a producer.

 

Her EP record ‘while the wind howls’, which was released in 2023, was an intimate, acoustic ode to grief.
